Family Wilderness Skills
Colorado and the western states offer innumerable opportunities for families to explore the stunning natural environment, learn from and explore untouched worlds, and develop deep curiosity and connection.
Learning to enjoy all that nature offers requires developing skills to safely and comfortably venture off the beaten path, especially with the added challenges involved with kids.
This weekly group is designed for parents and kids (age 10+) to learn together. You’ll learn to:
- help kids to be safe in nature
- learn how to make nature fun for everyone in the family
- unlock the learning opportunities contained in the biosphere
- invite curiosity, awe, and wonder
- expand awareness and cultivate connection with the Earth and its entities
- claim responsibility and create self-reliance
- invite cooperation and effective group dynamics
- recognize hazards and avoid threats
- eliminate gadgets and develop primitive skills
- learn the habits and patterns of animals through tracking
- and so much more
